PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Only WCC brings you the most internationally diverse panels, presenting an equally varied lineup of research, techniques and discussions. In these hyper-focused cornea sessions, you’ll dig deep and formulate actionable strategies to elevate your patient care.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This activity has been designated to meet the educational needs of cornea specialists, corneal surgeons, and comprehensive ophthalmologists seeking to advance their knowledge in the diagnosis, management, and surgical treatment of corneal diseases. Attendees will gain access to cutting-edge research, clinical insights, and expert-led discussions to enhance patient care and improve outcomes in corneal and external disease management.

STATEMENT OF NEED 

This activity is intended for corneal specialists and ophthalmologists with an interest in corneal and external disease, refractive surgery, and eye banking. World Cornea Congress is designed to bring these physicians together on an every-5-years basis to provide updates and education that they do not receive on this scale anywhere else. CS coordinates this meeting with various supra-national cornea organizations, to ensure a diverse prospective is being considered.

EDUCATIONAL MEETING OBJECTIVES

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  • Define diagnostic skills, discuss treatment options, and integrate updated protocols related to ocular infections.
  • Describe current research on the risk factors for, diagnosis of, and treatment options for keratoconus and other ectatic disorders.
  • Evaluate current and emerging options in penetrating keratoplasty and keratoprosthesis.
  • Compare and contrast lamellar and endothelial keratoplasty techniques, and apply surgical technique modifications as necessary to improve outcomes.
  • Examine and describe intraocular and corneal-based refractive surgery treatment options.
  • Explain current research related to the etiology and treatment of ocular surface diseases.
  • Identify and report current issues affecting global eye health and eye banking.
